Residential organic waste collection is provided to all customers residing within the city limits of Vacaville. Residential customers receive one 32- or 96-gallon green organics cart to collect a variety of organic materials for recycling.

Organic waste is used in a number of recycling processes, such as composting. Organic waste recycling produces rich compost which can be used by local residents and farmers, rather than going to waste in a landfill.
